A group of heavy-hitter GOP donors, terrified at the prospect of a President Donald Trump, who they fear will derail their beltway gravy train, has hired a popular GOP consulting firm to study the feasibility of organizing a campaign for an independent candidate for president at this late date. Trump is expected to have the GOP nomination pretty much wrapped up by March 15, which doesn’t leave a lot of time to gather the hundreds of thousands of required petition signatures and meet the respective state filing deadlines in order to get a candidate on the ballot in all fifty states.

As reported by Politico, “Conservative donors have engaged a major GOP consulting firm in Florida to research the feasibility of mounting a late, independent run for president amid growing fears that Donald Trump could win the Republican nomination.
A memo prepared for the group zeroes in on ballot access as a looming obstacle for any independent candidate, along with actually identifying a viable, widely known contender and coalescing financial support for that person. The two states with the earliest deadlines for independent candidates, Texas and North Carolina, also have some of the highest hurdles for independents to get on the ballot, according to the research.
‘All this research has to happen before March 16, when inevitably Trump is the nominee, so that we have a plan in place,’ a source familiar with the discussions said. March 16 is the day after the GOP primary in Florida, a winner-take-all contest that Marco Rubio supporters have identified as a must-win to stop Trump’s early momentum.”
These filthy, un-American scumbags intend to put Hitlery in the White House, even if she is a corrupt socialist, just to deny Trump the presidency. They know that she will play their game. It has made her rich. Trump won’t play their game, which is why they want him gone. THAT is why We the People need Donald Trump.
This news coincides with the buzz and activity suddenly coming from the camp of two-time loser Mitt Romney. According to Newsmax, “Mitt Romney plans to make a major address on the state of the Republican presidential race — fueling speculation among political insiders that he is ready to jump into the contest if the GOP is forced into a brokered convention.
CNN and Fox News reports that Romney will make his speech Thursday at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, but CNN’s executive political editor Mark Preston said sources tell him it will not be an announcement that the former Massachusetts governor plans to run.”
I know the sinister underbelly of our political system is nasty, but I had no idea it is THIS nasty! And for Mitt Romney to be the stooge in this corrupt scheme, especially against one of his biggest supporters in his own presidential run in 2012, is simply beyond comprehension.
It appears Mitt Romney has prostituted himself to special interests for reasons unknown. Why? He has a net worth of over $200 million, so it’s not money. He has no chance to win and he knows that. He will be forever labeled a three-time loser. The best Mitt can do is play spoiler and put Hitlery in the White House. I supported Mitt in 2012. Who would ever have thought that he would turn out to be such a gutter-crawling traitor? This will make him a laughing stock, three-time loser, and will greatly diminish what little respect he had left among his countrymen. The Mormon Benedict Arnold!
So, how should The Donald respond to this new threat? I think he should get a few of his well-heeled pals to fund an independent liberal candidate (or two) to split the Democrat vote. Bernie Sanders would be the perfect candidate! Romney will get some of Trump’s votes, but he won’t damage Trump nearly as much as Bernie damages Hitlery.
