H/T Joe LaVeque
THIS is what happens when liberal political correctness wins over common sense. And again the moron responsible for this is Chuck Schumer.
Trying to make political capital hay and embarrass poke President Trump in the eye in the process by proving how foolish his travel ban is, Democrats, led by Schumer, were convinced they had done the right and honorable thing, except their poke in the President’s eye wasn’t such a right and honorable thing for a certain 12-year-old girl.
From Washington Post:
It was a long journey for Indian snowshoe champion Tanveer Hussain and his team manager to the World Snowshoe Championships in Saranac Lake, N.Y., last weekend.
Hussain claimed he was told he had been denied a visa because of “current policy,” implying the travel ban was the reason, according to Young Conservatives.
However, U.S. officials say it was not because of the travel ban.
Mir had said that the visa would not have been issued without the “personal efforts” of Schumer and New York’s other Democratic senator, Kirsten Gillibrand. On Feb. 25, Schumer celebrated Hussain’s “rock star” welcome in a Facebook post, saying that the United States is “Still a country that welcome athletes from across the globe to compete in our stadiums, our snow-covered fields and everywhere in between.”
They greeted Hussain and his manager like heroes, according to Mir Mudasir, president, Snowshoe Federation of India.
The two were the toast of the village. Locals offered them free lodging, meals and a crowdfunding campaign raised $1,600 in a week to cover their travel expenses, The Enterprise wrote.
That was until Hussain allegedly touched a child.
The “fairy tale” was shattered Wednesday, when Hussain, 24, was arrested and charged with felony sexual abuse and child welfare endangerment, police said.
The parents of the 12-year-old girl allegedly involved said the incident happened Monday, after the end of the three-day snowshoe competition, and reported it to local authorities.
The girl told police there was a “passionate kiss” and that Hussain touched her in an intimate area on top of her clothing.
His brother said Hussain didn’t mean any harm. “In Kashmir, we have a tradition of showing love to children. We hug and kiss a child here, and our society doesn’t see it as a crime,” he said.
Exactly.
We also don’t approve of men touching and “passionately kissing” 12 year olds.
Thanks, Chuck Schumer, your political agenda made this all possible.
Hussain, obviously a Muslim, complained that Trump was attacking all Muslims in the world, not just the seven countries the ban applies to….
“This is the first time any country has refused visa to me. It is such a disappointing feeling that I don’t have a word to express it. I was going to represent India in the United States. It seems the visa ban is not for the seven countries of the Muslim majority countries, but on the Muslims throughout the world.”
You have proven that banning all Muslims may not be such a bad idea, Hussain.
