In a startling admission from one of the nation’s most highly decorated former military officers, the future of the U.S. military doesn’t look promising. The issue has been described as a “purging” of the military by several former or current high-ranking members of the armed forces, and the perpetrator behind the move?President Barack Obama.
Retired Army Maj. Gen. Patrick Brady, a Medal of Honor recipient for his actions in Vietnam, recently spoke to the media regarding Obama’s secret, yet obvious plan to demoralize and shrink the ranks of the U.S. military’s sharpest and most experienced leaders. Brady reports that the outlook is so grim, that up-and-coming military leaders are bowing out while they can, before being forced to “retire” or be relieved of their duties – which is decimating the ranks.
Part of the problem is Obama’s new policies regarding homosexuals in the military, women joining the ranks of the infantry, and the Obama sequestration situation. The issues are naturally controversial and spark conversation – just don’t get caught. A growing list of military leaders from the lowest to highest ranks have been quietly and sometimes publicly removed or forced to resign after speaking outagainst Obama’s military policies.
Retired Army Lt. Gen. William G. “Jerry” Boykin, who served as a Delta Force commander and Deputy Under Secretary of Defense under George Bush, is very concerned about the volume of officers being lost, and the way they’re losing them. “Over the past three years, it is unprecedented for the number of four-star generals to be relieved of duty, and not necessarily relieved for cause,” Boykin said.
Boykin also explained that many civilians without military experience have often mentioned, in his presence, the word “coup,” though he’s never raised the issue himself.
He also said that he talks to many officers who are still active in the military, but they’re not allowed to voice concerns whatsoever, publicly, without fear of losing their jobs. According to recent reports, Obama has purged nearly 200 high-ranking officers in the past five years alone – a staggering number that has played a large role in depleting morale. “Morale is at an unprecedented low,” he said.
If some of the greatest military leaders of our time are coming forward to say this, as is the case with Brady and Boykin, among others, there’s a real problem and it should be concerning to both members of the military and the rest of the American people, as it undermines and cripples our national defense capabilities to an unprecedented low level.
