James Comey clearly perjured himself under oath before the Senate in Thursday’s sworn testimony. When Comey was asked (first video), “Did you show copies of your memos to anyone outside of the Department of Justice?” he replied that he had. Comey’s story was that he asked a “good friend” to leak the memos to “a reporter” in response to a tweet by President Trump.
The problem with Comey’s
lie story is that “The New York Times was quoting from those memos the day before the referenced tweet” by President Trump, meaning that Comey is not only a barefaced liar, but also a careless liar, and may very well be in deep trouble. (This just in…. President Trump’s personal attorney is filing a complaint with the Justice Department on Monday regarding James Comey’s leaks and lies. Story to follow.)
