THIS is rich! In late February an angry Mexican President, Vicente Fox, declared loudly and proudly, “I’m not going to pay for that fucking wall!”
Two days ago, just a day after the Indiana GOP primary made Donald Trump the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, Fox relayed a message to Trump, via Breitbart: “I’m sorry.”
Translation: “No! Please, Presidente Trump, do not impose an import tariff. You will destroy us. Of course we will pay for the wall. We will pay for ten walls if you want. Just please forget about the import tariff thing. I am begging you. PLEEEEEEEASE!”
LOL! Come on, Vince, a little dignity, brother. Groveling will not help.
Fox is no dummy. He knows his cojones are against the wall, and he is trying to engineer the best possible outcome, and even the best possible outcome does not look very good from his perspective.
Fox now understands that Mexico is not in the driver’s seat. Trump is in the driver’s seat, and he will drive Fox wherever he feels like driving him, and Fox understands there is nothing he can do about it.
I wrote about this superior American dynamic in an article in January, 2014. It dealt specifically with China, but it applies equally to Japan, Mexico, and all of America’s trade partners, who are lapping up the sweet profits they are making off of the American consumer market, the most valuable thing in the history of the planet, while at the same time stealing American manufacturing jobs and crippling our economy. Link to that article…. Time To Stop Being Stupid!
It is sooooooooooooo simple to correct this trade imbalance situation that has led us to being a debtor nation. America is in the driver’s seat. Donald Trump understands this, and so too now does Vicente Fox.
From Breitbart
SANTA MONICA, California — During an exclusive interview with Breitbart News, former Mexican President Vicente Fox apologized Wednesday for the vulgar language he has used regarding GOP frontrunner Donald Trump’s proposal to build a wall along the southern border and invited the likely Republican nominee to Mexico to see the border from the other side.
Earlier this year, Fox said that he would not pay for Trump’s “f*cking wall,” and called Trump “Ignorant … crazy … egocentric … nasty … [a] false prophet.” Trump then called on Fox to apologize.
On Wednesday, he did so — in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News — and added that he wanted Trump to come to Mexico to see the border from the other side.
“I apologize. Forgiveness is one of the greatest qualities that human beings have, is the quality of a compassionate leader. You have to be humble. You have to be compassionate. You have to love thy neighbor,” Fox explained to Breitbart News while sitting in the hotel of the J.W. Marriott in Santa Monica, California on Wednesday afternoon.
