Michigan Football will watch "American Sniper"! Proud of Chris Kyle & Proud to be an American & if that offends anybody then so be it!
— Coach Harbaugh (@CoachJim4UM) April 9, 2015
The university administration had earlier cancelled the screening of the movie, caving to an online campaign, which complained that American Sniper “not only tolerates but promotes anti-Muslim … rhetoric and sympathizes with a mass killer,” further claiming that Chris Kyle was a “racist who took a disturbing stance on murdering Iraqi civilians. Middle Eastern characters in the film are not lent an ounce of humanity … ” The University announced that American Sniper would be replaced by the movie Paddington.

Just a little over an hour after Coach Harbaugh’s tweet and the overwhelmingly positive response it generated, the UM administration changed course and rescheduled the screening of American Sniper as originally planned, while admitting their error in cancelling the movie in the first place.
Many thanks to Coach Harbaugh for the courage to buck his paymasters, defy their politically correct nonsense, and for standing up for America and doing the right and proper thing!
It seems like a little courage from the beginning, on the part of the administration, and obedience to our Constitution, would have prevented the entire embarrassment.
