“Secretary Clinton gave a voluntary interview this morning about her email arrangements while she was Secretary,” Clinton campaign spokesman Nick Merrill said in a statement. (RELATED: EXCLUSIVE: Hillary Clinton To Meet With FBI On Saturday)

The Daily Caller first reported on Friday that the meeting would be held on Saturday, at the beginning of the long Fourth of July holiday weekend.

The meeting was held at the FBI’s headquarters in Washington D.C., according to a campaign aide.

“She is pleased to have had the opportunity to assist the Department of Justice in bringing this review to a conclusion. Out of respect for the investigative process, she will not comment further on her interview,” Merrill said in his statement.

An interview with Clinton is believed to be the last step in the FBI’s investigation into whether classified information was mishandled on the former secretary of state’s private email server. Hundreds of emails containing classified information — some of it “Top Secret” — were maintained on the server, which Clinton kept at her Chappaqua, N.Y. residence.

Investigators have interviewed numerous Clinton aides, including her deputy chief of staff Huma Abedin, her chief of staff Cheryl Mills and Bryan Pagliano, the IT technician who set up her server.
