There was a very touching moment at last night’s Congressional Baseball Game.
As the crowd watched, all cheering, some crying, wounded Capitol Police Officer David Bailey hobbled to the pitcher’s mound on crutches. Before a roaring audience, Bailey threw out the ceremonial first pitch to get the game underway.
Accompanied at the mound by baseball legend Joe Torre, Bailey carefully tossed the opening pitch to home plate, then waved to the still cheering crowd.
