Appearing on The Ingraham Angle, Laura Ingraham’s program on Fox News, Dr. Stephen Smith, an infectious disease expert, declared that a drug combination has been found to cure COVID-19.
“Cure” is my word. Dr. Smith did not use the word. However, he did admit that those treated with the drug combination have not had to be “intubated” (put on a ventilator), meaning they did not experience respiratory distress or failure, which has been the cause of death in most COVID-19 patients. ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome) is the medical term the respiratory failure that is “a common killer among critically ill patients hospitalized with COVID-19,” meaning that patients can be isolated and put on the drug combo treatment while the virus runs its course and the patient recovers. I call that a cure.
The combination, hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin, has proven effective in treating Dr. Smith’s COVID-19 patients with a 100% success rate thus far.
This discovery should drop the death rate drastically, hopefully to zero, and among those who test positive, they can be given the combination early, and be isolated to prevent spreading the virus.
Indeed, this appears to be the beginning of the end for coronavirus. May the end come quickly and return our lives back to normal.
