Everyone knows about women’s rights, or rather the lack thereof, in the Islamic world, where women can’t drive or even be seen outside without a male relative, where rape victims are subject to execution.
The populist movement sweeping the globe with Brexit and the election of Donald Trump has brought a renewed hope and boldness to groups for which there seemed little hope previously, like Muslim women, who have been considered little more than the property of Muslim men.
