Mike Jordan was interviewed by Laura Ingraham on Fox News yesterday. A friend of Jordan’s son typically carries a firearm and he witnessed the Sutherland Springs, Texas church massacre. He was not armed last Sunday when the massacre occurred at First Baptist.
Had he been armed, there would almost certainly have been many fewer casualties. Lives would have been saved. It would not have been the first time an armed private citizen confronted a wannabe mass murderer and neutralized him before he could kill dozens of innocent people.
There are two very important lessons to be learned from the Sutherland Springs massacre.
First, it is that which liberals love so much and are screaming at the top of their lungs for more of, government bureaucracy, that failed miserably in the case of Devin Kelley, who was allowed to purchase a firearm to murder 26 innocent people and wound many more. Note to liberals: Government is fallible and often hopelessly incompetent.
Devin Kelley is a perfect example. He was an escapee from a mental facility and had been court-martialed and dishonorably discharged from the Air Force for domestic violence. Clearly NOT legally eligible to own a firearm under current federal, bureaucratic law.
Second, the fact that it was an armed private citizen who eventually stopped Devin Kelley from killing everyone in the church in Sutherland Springs is all the proof needed to validate the Second Amendment and not only the right but the necessity of an armed citizenry.
I would also like to point out two key things I noted that are purely Texas in the video, below.
The first is the t-shirt worn by the gentleman on the left, Mike Jordan, mentioned above, who is being interviewed by Laura Ingraham. “Buy a gun. Annoy a liberal,” Mike’s t-shirt reads, a very Texan credo. Mike doesn’t need to say anything, just sit there wearing that t-shirt, and you can tell who he is, purely Texas!
The second is the smile on the face of Texas Attorney General, Ken Paxton, on the right. While Ingraham is interviewing Jordan, Paxton’s smile tells me that he can see Jordan’s shirt, evidence that the Second Amendment is alive and well in the great state of Texas!
