Confirming what many of us were already certain of (especially military and CIA), this is another important nail in the coffin of a corrupt, possibly negligently homicidal, administration. The Predator drone typically carries laser-guided Hellfire missiles. The fact that Woods and Doherty had "painted" the mortar position made it a simple matter of deploying the Hellfire, which would have been pin-point guided to the target by the laser designator. Very simple. They languished for hours, waiting for help from the Predator, which was on location, but not permitted to fire, all the while Al Qaeda adjusting their mortar fire until it landed directly on Woods and Doherty….
