Peter Newsham, the acting Police Chief of Washington, DC: “I can tell you unequivocally in Washington, D.C. we are not going to enforce civil immigration laws.”

One very serious problem, in my opinion, within the law enforcement community nationwide is a clear lack of education on the part of police officers, especially at the local level, as to their responsibilities under the Constitution of the United States, to which they swore an oath. Many have forgotten that oath, or it never registered to begin with, that they are not simply charged with enforcing the law of the city or county in which they work, but also the laws of their state and federal law. This is not a choice. It is a sworn duty!

I will simply point out to this traitor the very brief and simple oath he swore when he was appointed.

From the Washington, DC legal code….

“Each personnel authority of an agency of the District (of Columbia) shall designate a person to administer the oath of office to each employee of that agency. The oath shall be as follows:

‘I, (employee’s name) do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the laws of the United States of America and of the District of Columbia, and will, to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, and will faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter.'”
