Bruce Hagen, pictured above, is the mayor of Superior, Wisconsin. He is currently under fire from many directions, including the White House, for posting his honest thoughts, allegedly protected by the First Amendment, to facebook. At least I thought his speech was protected by the First Amendment. It appears that free speech is only to be enjoyed by Barack Hussein and his sycophants. The rest of us need not apply.

The uproar began when someone posted a picture of Michelle Obama to the mayor’s facebook page, which prompted the mayor to respond, “Unbelievable! She and her Muslim partner have destroyed the fabric of democracy that was so very hard fought for!”

The call for the mayor’s apology or resignation was immediate. According to Buzzpo, “The Obama administration has now requested a formal apology from Hagen or is threatening to force him to resign from office. Sadly, some of the City Councilmembers have taken the White House’s side and are telling their mayor to either apologize or step down.”

The chorus of idiotic comments coming from the city council, demanding the mayor’s apology or resignation is beyond lunacy. Councilman Graham Garfield, who is also the poster child for stupidity and political correctness, remarked to Fox21, “As an American he is entitled to exercise freedom of speech but no one is entitled to hold elected office, and so the stupid things that we may say or do reflect on whether or not we should be elected officials.”

Really Graham? So, you surrender your constitutional rights when you are elected? Really? Well, you are elected and you just called the mayor’s comment stupid. Should you be forced to resign? You have no First Amendment rights, remember? You surrendered them at your election night party, right?

Will fascistbook pile on and delete the mayor’s account? They are not exactly fans of the First Amendment.

So far Mayor Hagen has stood by his comment, refusing to resign, telling a Fox21 reporter, “I have huge respect for the Office of the President, but no respect for the current administration.”

A Wisconsin mayor has caused a firestorm of controversy after calling President Obama a Muslim in a Facebook post.

Superior, Wisconsin Mayor Bruce Hagen has become the subject of scrutiny after someone posted a picture of first lady Michelle Obama to his Facebook wall, WDIO reported.A Wisconsin mayor has caused a firestorm of controversy after calling President Obama a Muslim in a Facebook post.

“Unbelievable! She and her Muslim partner have destroyed the fabric of democracy that was so very hard fought for!” he wrote in response.

The comments caused an immediate backlash and five city councilors are among the chorus of those demanding the mayor retract his statement, according to WDIO.

“Quite simply, these are really inappropriate comments,” councilor Graham Garfield told WDIO on Monday. “How can we have a non-partisan elected mayor who has to work with elected officials, including the president’s office, making these comments?”

“I’m absolutely shocked and dumbfounded that the mayor would say something so callous and untrue about the First Lady,” State Representative Nick Milroy added. “This is not what Superior is about. We’ve always been a community that’s welcoming to all people.”

Fox 21 reported that city counselors Graham Garfield, Warren Bender, Esther Dalbec, Dan Olson and Denise McDonald have demanded the mayor apologize at once or resign as mayor because who cares about the First Amendment?

“As an American he is entitled to exercise freedom of speech but no one is entitled to hold elected office, and so the stupid things that we may say or do reflect on whether or not we should be elected officials,” City Counselor Garfield told Fox 21.

“Do we still have freedom of speech in the country? Sometimes I kind of forget,” Hagen asked Fox 21 rhetorically.
