Recently on MSNBC’s Now With Alex Wagner, former Rolling Stone Executive Director, Eric “Brain Dead” Bates, hereinafter referred to as Master Bates, was unsurprisingly blind enough to draw a moral equivalence between the massacre of twelve innocent people in Paris by Muslim cockroaches to Jerry Falwell’s suing of Hustler magazine for portraying him having sex with his mother.

Said Master Bates: “I think we also have to remember that this isn’t just Islamic extremism. If you go back to the ’80s – during the Reagan administration – when Jerry Falwell sued Hustler magazine for portraying him having – I believe it was drunken incest with his mother in an outhouse – again, in a visual form – and won a $150,000 court case against Hustler for that. It was overturned by the Supreme Court, I think, eight-to-zero. So, you know, religious fundamentalists of all stripes and of nationalities have this penchant to say, we want to be able tell you what you can and can’t portray.”

By Master Bates’ twisted logic had a group of  Baptist butchers stormed the offices of Hustler and executed a dozen people I suppose Master Bates and his fellow progressive pansies would have considered that an expected response.

NOT!! I was there. I remember the episode well.  Liberals were screaming from the rooftops of their ivory towers, maligning Falwell in the vilest of language for his lack of tolerance and hatred of free speech. To this day there is great wailing and gnashing of teeth from Berkeley to Boston over Falwell’s lawsuit. Now liberal loons use it to justify mass murder by Islamic nutjobs.

Alex Wagner replied to Master Bates’ brilliant observation and moral equivalence by pointing out that “Charlie Hebdo was an equal-opportunity slanderer,” blaspheming Christianity, Judaism, and Islam alike. She then took a sharp left turn, claiming that “we focus very specifically on Islam, because it is much more incendiary and much more controversial to talk about.”

Really, Alex? Really? We are picking on Muslims because they are a much more convenient target? It hasn’t sunk in yet that Muslims murder innocent people without justification, has it? Unless, of course, cartoons are justification in Liberaland, which I reckon is the case, judging by your exchange with that esteemed panel of progressive pud-pullers. My advice is skip happy hour today and sit in your office, in the dark, and think about this. Hopefully the truth will find its way to you, but I doubt it.

Not to be left out of the liberal lunacy, Rick MacArthur of Harper’s magazine used the occasion to bash America, relying on the tried and untrue progressive mantra that the real cause of  Islamist mass murder is the American troop presence in the Middle East. According to MacArthur, “…because of a huge American troop presence in the Middle East…that never existed before…there is a sense of grievance in the Muslim world today that didn’t exist twenty years ago – before the United States sent troops to Saudi Arabia.”

Right, Rick, I remember when the Saudi king begged for an American troop presence. I also remember the Kuwaitis shaking in their sandals, pleading for the Yanks to come deliver them from Saddam Hussein. How about that, now we have our own Hussein (pardon my digression). I say we all chip in and buy Rick and his chicken-choking chum, Master Bates, a clue.
