Criminals on border increasingly ignore federal authorities

Brazen Smugglers Threaten Journalists While Operating In Broad Daylight

Human smugglers operating on the Mexico side of the U.S. border threatened journalists out documenting the current immigrant surge, all while continuing their illegal activities in plain sight.

On Thursday, journalists working with ABC affiliate KRGV Channel 5 News were on location in the border town of Roma, Texas, about 50 miles northwest of McAllen, where they spotted human traffickers brazenly carrying out their operations in broad daylight.

A CHANNEL 5 NEWS crew watched as the smugglers blew up rafts, took payments and sent men floating across the river.

The smugglers threatened the news crews.

Dozen of vehicles circled the river bank on the Mexican side all day. Many of the vehicles had Texas license plates.

Meanwhile, U.S. Border Patrol agents worked in vain on the U.S. side trying to keep up with the dozens of smuggling units going to and fro across the Rio Grande in Mexico, many of which had Texas license plates, KRGV reports.

The human traffickers, who reportedly identified themselves as members of the notorious Gulf Cartel, worked seemingly unfazed, despite officers with the Texas Department of Public Safety ramping up patrols in the area.

Reporters said they only witnessed adult men waiting to cross, while scouts were typically male kids and teens.

The report underscores the fact that thousands of illegal immigrants still prefer to enter the U.S. anonymously, and are not turning themselves over to Border Patrol agents, who are busy filling out paperwork for women and children who did surrender.

And it also underscores the complete lawlessness on the border as human traffickers and smugglers operate without fear of federal authorities.

The influx of illegals continues non-stop everyday, making it difficult to put an actual official figure to the number of illegal aliens penetrating the U.S. border.

As one border agent exclusively revealed to Infowars, on a normal day more illegal aliens escape than are caught.

“As a Border Patrol Agent, I can tell you as an eye witness that we are currently losing more than we are catching,” the agent claimed, whose name has been withheld to protect him from retaliation.

The anonymous border agent also revealed some of the immigrants absconding law enforcement are the most criminal type.

“The ones we are losing are convicted felons, aliens from special interest countries, and other high risk individuals. We are so overwhelmed and preoccupied by the flood of juveniles and family units that we cannot use our resources to catch the more serious aliens,” the agent stated.

As we indicated yesterday, MS-13 gang members are actively seeking recruits near and around the border and are acting aggressively toward U.S. police officers.

It’s quite likely that in the future, criminals operating near the border won’t just stop at just threatening reporters and American citizens.
