Kathleen Hawk Sawyer, the Director of the US Federal Bureau of Prisons, appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday to discuss the prison death of Jeffrey Epstein, which has been concluded to be a suicide, considered a ridiculous conclusion by many, including yours truly.
There is so much wrong with the official conclusion that a thorough, impartial, independent investigation is certainly warranted. One could begin with the fact that Epstein was reportedly found on his knees with a rope made of pieces of paper bedsheet tied together, around his neck. How can a man hang himself and then get on his knees?
Thus far, the Epstein case stinks to high Heaven and makes the United States look no better than the most corrupt banana republic. Just remember, if this can happen to a high-profile billionaire, it would be very easy for it to happen to you or me.
Despite Senator Kennedy’s clever and humorous quip in the video below, the Louisiana Republican clearly relayed the seriousness of the subject.
Senator Kennedy: How can I put this? Christmas ornaments, drywall, and Jerry (Jeffrey) Epstein: Name three things that don’t hang themselves. That’s what the American people think. That’s what the American people think. And they deserve some answers.
And I know that you’re not in charge of these investigations. But you talk to the people who are. And, I need you to take a very respectful message today. Tell the American people what happened.
And don’t rush it so that they don’t do a thorough investigation. But you and I both know they can make this a top priority and get it done more quickly than they normally would.
