From Philly

On Tuesday, Minister Louis Farrakhan spoke at Philadelphia’s Tindley Temple United Methodist Church to mobilize support for the 20th anniversary of the Million Man March, Justice…Or Else! There, he announced that Philly native Will Smith and his wife, Jada, donated $150,000 to the Oct. 10 event.

A post on Farrakhan’s Facebook page read, “…the couple happily donated $150,000 to offset the cost of hosting the upcoming historic gathering!” The post also notes that the “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” star attended the first Million Man March in 1995.

Even with the Smiths’ significant contribution, officials say the Justice…Or Else! March needs to raise nearly $2 million to function properly.

During his speech, Farrakhan encouraged activism and boycotts to call attention to the Black Lives Matter movement and police brutality.

Justice…Or Else! takes place at Washington, D.C.’s National Mall on Oct. 10 at 10 a.m.
