What did the president know and when did he know it?

As news reports regarding soldiers who served with Bowe Bergdahl as well as family members of those killed in action searching for the missing Buck Sergeant continue to flood newsrooms accusing Bergdahl of deserting to the enemy, the news is leaking out that the Department of Defense (DoD) believes that he may have actually been an active collaborator with the Taliban terror network. As Fox News reported on June 2, 2014, the DoD is admitting to maintaining a “major classified file” on the Idaho native, as well as more than a few in the intelligence community have and still harbor “serious outstanding concerns” if he has been an active collaborator with the enemy during time of war.

As reported by The Army Times, NBC News and The Daily Mail (of London, England) all are also reporting on June 2, 2014, that the parents of the US Army’s 2d Lt. Darryn Andrews who was killed in action (KIA) are hammering the Obama Administration for the deal struck with the Taliban. Not alone, many of the soldiers who served with Bergdahl are too accusing him of deserting his post in Afghanistan in 2009.

Lt. Andrews’ father has accused Barack Obama of initiating a cover-up of the truth regarding the circumstances of Bergdahl’s disappearance. Not alone, many former comrades-in-arms of Bergdahl have been quoted of accusing him of being both a deserter and traitor to his fellow soldiers and his country.

As shocking as the accusations leveled at the Obama Administration are, it’s arguable that they pale in comparison to James Rosen of Fox News reporting that a number of his confidential sources within the Executive Branch are informing him that despite Obama authorizing the release of five major Taliban commanders for the lone American POW, the DoD and many intelligence experts in the Administration have reason to believe Bergdahl was an not only deserting to the enemy, but also willfully collaborated.

According to Rosen, a senior official has verified to Fox News that “the conduct of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl — both in his final stretch of active duty in Afghanistan and then, too, during his time when he lived among the Taliban — has been thoroughly investigated by the U.S. intelligence community and is the subject of ‘a major classified file.'”

In what could best be described as a bomb-shell, Rosen noted “In conveying as much, the Defense Department source confirmed to Fox News that many within the intelligence community harbor serious outstanding concerns not only that Bergdahl may have been a deserter but that he may have been an active collaborator with the enemy.”

Another Administration official whom Rosen only described as one “whose duties are focused on counterterrorism,” described the status of the investigations on Bergdahl prior to his disappearance and subsequent five years with the Taliban, “‘Everybody’s looking at this. He’s not going to get a free pass’ in the interrogations that Bergdahl will face during his repatriation process. ‘He’s going to have a lot of questions to answer — a lot. Is he a hero? No.'”

To make matters worse inside the White House, confidential sources have “told Fox News that many officials in the Executive Branch are ‘quite baffled’ by the White House’s decision to allow the president to stand alongside Bergdahl’s father this past weekend, given the father’s history of controversial statements, emails and online posts.”
